Physician Assistant (Arthroplasty)

Fredericksburg Orthopedics is a high-volume multi-specialty orthopedic surgical practice seeking a full-time physician assistant in orthopedic and joint. The practice has three facilities (Fredericksburg, Stafford and Spotsylvania) covering four counties.

Fredericksburg is located one hour South of Washington D.C. and one hour North of Richmond, VA off Interstate 95. Fredericksburg provides an easy drive to the ocean and the Blue Ridge Mountains, which offers skiing and offers many historical and recreational sites. The Fredericksburg community provides the benefit of being an excellent community and environment to raise a family along with increasing property values and social amenities.

Clinical/Hospital duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Treat patients both independently and with supervision.
  • Participate in pre- and post-operative care of patients.
  • Order appropriate tests and develop patient treatment plans.
  • Independent interpretation of x-rays and MRIs.
  • Perform injections, casting, and other orthopedic office procedures.
  • Collect patient data and document pertinent notes in the EMR.
  • Assist with major and minor surgical procedures in the operating room within scope of licensure.
  • Participate in on-call activities and in-patient rounds as directed by the physician.
  • Assist in fielding/triaging patient and physician calls.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be eligible for or have a current Virginia license.
  • Must be or near achieving NCCPA certification.
  • Valid DEA license.
  • Orthopedic experience preferred.
